Last night I did Mr. Raylen's 9 month photos. He is seriously one of the cutest babies I have ever worked with. I've been working with this family for about a year. I did their family portraits, Raylen's 3 month photos, 6 month, and now 9 month. They were among the few families that I started photographing in the very beginning of my portrait career . I opened up their folder, and flipped through some of their family photos. They were awful ;) THEY looked amazing, but my editing sucked. Like really sucked. I was going to post one of them but decided not to because it was THAT bad. We all have to start somewhere right?!
Here is Raylen and his beautiful momma
Here's Raylen at the park. It started out a super sunny day, and then the Humboldt fog rolled in. We started photos a little later then I thought we would, (I forgot my SDcard... whoops!) so it was a tad darker outside then I would have liked. With manual mode, and my photoshop actions, you can't even tell! :) I put a blush overlay, and added some sunshine to this photo, and fished it off with a matte look like the rest of my photos.
We parked Raylen up on the bench and his momma hid down low, and I photographed him from the other side. At this angle, he looks like the king of the playground! I lightened it up a tad, used an action to make his eyes sparkle, added the blush overlay, added a bokeh filter for texture, and finished it off with a matte look.
I lightened it up a tad, made his eyes sparkle, added a little sunshine at the top for added color, put a bokeh filter on the bottom for texture, added a blush action, and finished it off with a matte look.
This little guy was a part of another family that I photographed in the very beginning. I was SOOOO happy when they asked me to photograph their family again this year! For this photo, I lightened it up a bit, added some sparkle to his eyes, a contrast filter, and finished it off with a matte look. P.S. I just LOVE his freckles!
These kids rocked this photo. Just saying! I didn't even ask them to do the hand holding. So stinking sweet! I lightened it up some, added some sunshine rays with an overlay, a contrast filter, and an overlay that is called Autumn Evening... It adds a sort of orangy look to the photo... and finished it off with a matte look!
This image I just went crazy. I don't even remember how I got to the finished product. I know I lightened it up some, added the sunshine, and a matte finish... but the rest will remain a mystery!
I think I will finish this post with my favorite finished image this week. Simple black and white. Swooooonnnnn. He's just so handsome!
